What is yoga?

As you may know, yoga simply means a practice of holding specific poses.
Strictly speaking, there are various disciplines for yoga, and the practice of holding specific poses is just one of these disciplines, known as asana.
However, on this site, we do not particularly distinguish between yoga and asana.
If your goal is to master meditation, yoga practices other than asana are not essential, so this site focuses solely on explaining asana.
